weekend in trodheim

It has been learning and trying to fit in my new world view. Of course it is not possible to totally drop the former one yet necessary to know the new one so as to know how to relate with people. The weekend in Trondheim came faster than i had anticipated. It has been quite challenging to communicate with some people as body languages are very different. besides some things that would be ok to say at home are abominations here, generally not sure if the joke you crack is actually a joke to them. Besides the slang is totally different and its hard to know what is appropriate to say or not. am worn out from thinking many things before i figure out the direction of a conversation. sometimes prefer to just sit and read my novels instead to venturing out. It was on that note that i did not know what to expect at the camp with laget. how was i supposed to relate with them, be quiet or reach out... Lets just say the camp was a success and i managed to have a good time. Thax to some students that choose to speak English and made it as inclusive as they could. In case i had not mentioned the students speak both norsk and English but its sickening when they insist on speaking in norsk in your presence yet they know u donot understand. As usual i device means of survival where i relate to mostly internationals more and a few conscious students that make the effort. Life is short so one goes with those that are willing to include them. Otherwise am grateful for the experience of being in this position and still having a good time. With a few weeks left to move to Trondheim, praying for grace and wisdom in the six months there. Trusting that there is something i can do with the students there in terms of enriching our lives and growing in our faith.
