hmmm. how has it been with you guys? Me its a lot of new stuff, appreciating lots of things i previously took for granted and understanding better the concept that riches don't necessarily mean happiness. Well some people may agree or disagree but what i meet most times is unhappy souls that are unwilling to break out of ''this is the way things are done here''. as a result lots of lonely people that would otherwise be better if were a little friendly which would cost them nothing.

it is surprisingly a good morning. visited a friends church at 11am. it was a pentecostal church with a visiting preacher from UK. it was quite a small congregation and i enjoyed the service. later in the afternoon i attended the International service (African+Asian) at Bethel church. I had been looking forward to this time and was glad to finally make it. There was lots of Amen and Hallellujahs and dancing of course. it was refreshing for me to see people experience and exercise their freedom in Christ. Soooo if u were wondering what it is like there, try Miracle Center Rubaga and you will understand what am talking about...

mandag 20th oktober
another week of early mornings for me. well now am much better but the dark mornings do not make it easy for me to arise and shine/gloom-depending on which applies. anyhow i enjoyed time at berg (place where students have their meetings(read fellowship)), every Monday people
meet and try to do repairs to keep it in shape. i joined the group doing shopping and making dinner- ask those who consumed it whether it was worth it or they were just hungry and did not think of the taste. otherwise it was a worthwhile time.

Tirsdag 21st oktober.
Love this day because it begins late for me. not so much activity except looking forward to dinner at Johns. so headed there with Landi and Joanna. The best bit is that he made gonja and i was so excited, so i ate without fear or favor-it was yummy. it was a good and relaxed evening which i enjoyed.


onsdag 22nd okt
language class in the morning which was ok. Later headed for shopping with two friends, it took about 4hours which was hectic because making choices was hard... otherwise i hosted cell and i liked it. was a lot of talking and catching up with different members. I just love my cell, its full of interesting characters...

fredag 24th okt
trying to find away of having more activities by having less activities. however it seems like it is working as much as it is not. Friday...usually love this day as its the initiation into the weekend which i so much love. and besides was looking forward to the meeting about mission. fellowship runs from 7.30pm-9pm, and then later its coffee and juice as people catch up on the last week. usually i leave after midnight as its the best time to bond with students and get to know people...

3rd week in Trondheim

It has been quite long. but now am back and ready to share my past week. I must say it was fairly successful though with a hiccup that did not leave me the same. however as we all know, that is part of being alive. one can definately not expect smooth ways but humps on the road which check speed and get one thinking.

sunday 12th okt
i woke up quite late yet i wanted to attend church. nevertheless i insisted on attending church, and headed out in much hurry forgeting my buscard in the process. since i wanted to attend church, i had to cough the cash for the journey to my pain oouuch. it was family sunday so it was quite short as the children attended the main service. the preacher tried to balance but mainly focused on the children. after church i headed to Lillians place ( she attends the same church and is also in laget) where there was ameeting for young adults who are btn the ages of 22-39. enjoyed the fellowship, met new people and also did games that were so much fun. meanwhile as the meeting neared the end i rembered that i did not have a bus card. i was not willing to cough more money so walked with 2 others that didnt believe in the bus theory. it took me about 50minutes to get home as we were slow...so overly it was a good day except for the news later in the evening that did not bless me.

mandag 13th okt
first day in my norskkurs. my class started at 8.45. felt that was too early because of the previous late mornings for me. ofcourse the truth is that in any job setting one would be at work by 8am but in my case i was still enjoying sleeping in-in the morning. it was not so successful as the teacher spoke lots of norsk which made it difficult. this runs for 3hours everyday.
3pm: met with my contact person who loves to teach the bible, spent time discussing how i can be part of the venture, normally i would have been excited but the news last evening didnot leave me any choice but to contemplate life and what it throws at us sometimes...so hopefully will recover fast and get going.

Tirsdag14th okt
10.30am norskkurs. this was better timing for me and enjoyed the bed longer.
5.30pm headed out to Berg where i was supposed to meet up with Håkon so we go to KRIK. we later headed there, ofcourse i didnot join in the sports bit but later was part of the meeting. well you would think that people would be so concerned to translate for you while someone else is speaking but alas no one is usually concerned. that is strange as they know i donot speak the lanuage so missed out as Håkon was translating for Landi...anyway that is something i have to get used to when we are 2 english speakers and only one person is trying to translate in small group. thankfully later on i enjoyed his services at the expense of my teammate who had people seated near her but didnot dare help...hmmm

onsdag15 okt
normal classes + bible lesson in the evening. the topic was discipleship, the speaker spoke straight to my heart and passion. i so much enjoyed the examples and bible verses he shared. this prompted me to get serious with my friend that am accountable to and share my happenings. it is important as Christians to have someone or people that we are accountable to, these will walk with us we can not manage alone. So i challenge you to pray about someone you can have as an accoutability partner(s).

torsdag16th okt
it was quite slow. left school and headed home as i didnot have a program for the evening at Berg(place where students hold their meetings(read fellowship). had people come over at home and we watched 'phantom of the opera', it was a fairly good evening but mainly glad for the rest and time to relax.

fredag17th okt
i had been looking forward to this day as Kjetil a student from laget invited me to join him for a meeting he was going to attend. he had been invited to speak by some youth in a certain place (sorry i can not remember the name of the place) so met up with him and headed out in the evening. needed to take the ferry at one point, enjoyed the meeting. and came back by boat. well its right to say that it was my highlight this week. it was quite refreshing to meet youths of about 15yrs old and laugh with them.

my discovery of place that sells matooke, was very excited even though it cost me quite alot, can u imagine four figures going for 8400Ug Shs were as in kalerwe they are looking for some one to eat them as they are ripening. never the less was very glad that finally my longing was put to rest.

its a joyous moment that deserves celebration...thank God it is independence day, that way i can celebrate. Oh Uganda we celebrate x2 and Yoweri Museveni a proper son of Africa ( as though the rest of us are un proper)...can anyone remember such songs...mbu sang by NRM after bush war, i bet Sgt Kifurugunyu was the vocalist...hehehe. no offence. Nevertheless am glad for my matooke...

so after attending Henricks send off and Birthday party, had to figure out my way back home, since it was just a few days after my arrival in Trondheim i was not very well versed with the different routes. lets just say i got home some how...

Church

Hi, Very happy to have finally found a church that i can belong to. After my long church hunting, the Lord led me to one i can relate with. it is called the Free church (Lutheran). don't ask me if other churches are in 'bondage' but it is because originally the Lutheran church was/is under the state so those that did not agree to some actions yet still loved to be Lutherans broke off, so that is where 'free' comes in.
am so interested partly because they have interpretation in English which allows me be part of the service. i also love the order of service, more because it lies between atypical Anglican church and Pentecostal Church...and hence closer to calvary chapel at home. The church service allows me to experience God and not be under rules...so all in all am glad for now.
i hear there is an international Church which i plan to visit soon, however reliable information says that it is basically an African Church and not so international. will visit it and let you in on the details...so for now glad that am back in the system of church as opposed to the previous weeks. still wondering what i can be involved in:...cleaning up looks to be close to what i can do, children's church is hard with my language barrier but could be good key to learning the language faster and lastly could ask about missions...so hopeful to get involved beyond just attending.

exactly one week

Yesterday was exactly a week since we relocated to Trondheim- our home for the next few months...
it was also the first fellowship i attended, i loved the big group meeting even with its language problems. thankfully one of the students offered to translate, it was not easy to do it for 3 people... so eventually we ended up with tits and bits of the message. otherwise it was a good evening and i enjoyed interacting with different people.
Since i arrived it has been many different activities but i guess the cell meeting of Wednesday was a highlight for me. i loved to read Romans 11 &12 and discussing it with my cell mates. it just brought memories of my bible study group at home.
So i guess i can say that am settling in and enjoying getting to know people and 'home'...
on a personal note, i have been studying the book of Amos, it was a bit unclear at the start but am picking up. Amos is condemning the injustices in this world caused by especially the rich who have their way. The truth is that God sees all the crimes committed against the poor in every aspect especially the courts of law that should be offering them justice.
apart from that study i have thinking of what God would rather have me spend my time and life doing, need to seek Him because He promises to show me the way...
otherwise stay blessed and live your life like every breath matters...
