norsk class
just thought i should share with you my typical day at hald for those that have been wondering. hald internasjonale senter is a school that brings together students from 14 countries preparing them to work in cross cultural settings in whatever fields they are involved in. the countries here are; Norway, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Cameroon, Madagascar, Bolivia, Peru, Thailand, Laos, Nepal, Brasil and France. This year was special in the sense that AnnStephanie from France joined us. The time spent at hald is for preparing us to work in the different cultures in which we will be placed. usually this is how my day run except for weekends when there is no school...

7.30am: arise and shine with a sleepy head and head straight to the bathroom before i change my mind...

8.00am: breakfast which was mainly bread, cereal, juice and milk. now you know why you should not offer me bread when i visit...

8.30am: quiet time which was unfortunately rarely quiet, but thankfully managed to utilise it on many occasions and found it helpful...

9.00am: started class with 'reflection of the day' which comprised of anything from a bible verse to a skit...
classes run for 45min and 15min break, this went on until 1.00pm

1.00pm: time for lunch, i loved this meal and could not miss it for any reason as it was the only hot meal and the closest to home.

2.00pm: started class again with same amount of study time and break time until 4.00pm.

4.00pm : was the beginning of the self time, sports lovers were usually engaged and some of us would either be spectators or indulge in other activities...

5.30pm: supper which was exactly like breakfast except for the absence of cereal and thus used to refer to it as evening tea, unfortunately it was the last meal for the day so either eat it or eat it...

6.00pm: for me this was time to catch up with friends at home, do my laundry, read a novel or visit people i had gotten to know in the area...

8.00pm: favorite time to chat with friends in the living room or play indoor games like Uno, Othello but of course my favorite ligreto...

I often retired to bed after midnight, this explains why i always found it hard to arise in the morning. well for now no such routine and i am glad...
ready for anew one with norsk classes underway...
